Notary Services
Have your document notarized from home over a live video call with a New York electronic notary. No trip to the office needed.
Remote online notarization (RON) lets you have a document notarized without leaving home. Electronic notarization by live audio-video has been authorized in New York since January 31, 2022, under Executive Law §135-c. During a remote session, the notary is physically located in New York State and is registered with the New York Department of State as an electronic notary.
You meet the notary on a live, two-way audio-video call. Before you sign, your identity is verified, for example through credential analysis of your photo ID and identity-proofing questions, or because the notary knows you personally. You then sign the document electronically while the notary watches, and the notary completes an electronic notarial certificate. The session is recorded, and the recording is kept as New York law requires.
To get started, you’ll need a computer, tablet or smartphone with a working camera and microphone, a stable internet connection, a current government-issued photo ID and your document in electronic form, such as a PDF. Before you book, please confirm that the person or agency receiving your document accepts electronic notarizations. Some courts, government agencies and foreign authorities still require a traditional ink-signed notarization. If yours does, we’re happy to see you in person at our Brooklyn office.
