General Notary Work

Affidavits, consent letters, powers of attorney and everyday forms notarized in Brooklyn by a New York notary public.

About this service

Many everyday documents need a notary’s signature and stamp before a school, bank, employer, court or government office will accept them. At Kay’s Notary Travel on Utica Avenue in Brooklyn, we notarize affidavits, sworn statements, consent letters, powers of attorney, business and bank forms, and school and employment paperwork in a calm, friendly setting.

A notary public commissioned by the New York Department of State verifies the signer’s identity, witnesses the signature and, when the document calls for it, administers an oath or affirmation. Every signer must appear in person, bring a current government-issued photo ID and be signing willingly. Your document should be complete, with no blank spaces, and it’s best to wait to sign until you are with the notary.

Please keep in mind that a notary who is not an attorney cannot give legal advice, choose a form for you or explain what a document means. If you have questions about the content of your document, please speak with an attorney or the office that asked for it. Notary fees are set by New York law, and any additional service fees are explained before your appointment.

Make sure every section is filled in and nothing is left blank, but wait to sign until you’re with the notary.

Frequently asked questions

Can you tell me which form I need?

No. A notary who is not an attorney cannot choose forms, prepare documents or give legal advice. Please get the correct form from the organization requesting it, or speak with an attorney if you have questions about its content.

Do you offer same-day appointments?

We do our best to accommodate urgent requests. Please call us at (718) 872-7747 to check availability.

How much does a notarization cost?

Notary fees are set by New York law. If any additional service fees apply, we explain them up front, before your appointment.

My document is in another language. Can you notarize it?

Possibly. The notary must be able to communicate directly with you and understand the notarial certificate being completed. The person or agency receiving the document may also require a translation, so please check with them and call us before your visit.
